Makeup Collection: Lipsticks

Hey everyone, welcome to the final post in my makeup collection series!
I hope you've enjoyed reading so far! Today I'll be talking about some of my favourite lipsticks. It was really quite hard for me to pick just a handful of lipsticks and I noticed a couple of them were basically the same colour, but who doesn't love a good nude right?!

MAC Amplified Lipstick - Half 'n Half
First up is a lipstick from MAC, one of the first I ever bought and it's still going strong! It's in the shade Half 'n Half which I've found is very similar to Velvet Teddy, just with a slightly glossier finish. The staying power is amazing, and I can wear this all day and not have to top up which is great! This lipstick is the perfect nude for an everyday makeup look and one of my go-to lippies!

Kylie Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick - Dolce K
Another perfect nude for everyday is Dolce K from Kylie Jenner's makeup range. I really like the formula of this liquid lipstick, it's not too matte that it dries your lips out but it has really good staying power! I bought this as a kit, so I received the lip liner to match and I have to say it's one of the best lip liners I've ever used! The only issue I've had is the customs fees when ordering from Kylie Cosmetics with it being from America, but it's definitely worth it!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream - London
This is my first and only product from NYX and I have used this to death! It's what I usually wear when I'm trying to achieve that 'no-makeup' look. The consistency of this lip cream baffled me at first, because it's like nothing I've ever tried before. It doesn't have as good a staying power as other matte lipsticks, but the pigmentation is great and it smells amazing too! I keep meaning to buy more shades but for now I'll be sticking to my trusty London shade!

Rimmel Apocalips - Celestial
As far as I know, these gloss/lacquer have actually been discontinued now (correct me if I'm wrong) but this light pink shade is one of my favourites, I usually wear this over a brown-nude lip liner and the mix of the two colours gives a lovely natural shade. They are, however, a little bit sticky so I sometimes dust a bit of translucent powder over the top to try and mattify it a little.

MAC Glaze Lipstick - Hot Tahiti
Just like the NYX lip cream, this is definitely one of my holy grail lip products. It's a glaze finish, so has a sheer glossy look to it but is a gorgeous dark pink. I wore this lipstick to death in Autumn/Winter and will probably do the same this year! It doesn't last as long on the lips as the matte lipsticks do but is still an absolutely gorgeous shade!

ModelCo Party Proof Lipstick - Smitten
Just like the name suggests, this lipstick is party proof! I have worn this on so many nights out and it's lasted all night which is impressive to say the least! It doesn't have a fully matte finish, so does transfer when kissing but doesn't lose any pigment which is fab! A gorgeous deep red that is actually darker when worn on the lips, it's also perfect in the Winter months to give a bit of edge to your look!

Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream - Rioja Red
Last but not least, a new favourite of mine. I discovered this lippie after seeing Rachel Leary talking about it in one of her YouTube videos, and it looked absolutely stunning! It's a beautiful true red, and the pigmentation is incredible. I have noticed that it doesn't last very long while eating, but drinking doesn't affect it so it's great for a night out. This has fast become a staple in my makeup bag!

So that concludes my makeup collection, I hope you've enjoyed reading! What's your favourite lipstick? I'd love to know!

March Favourites 2017

Hey everyone, I hope you're well! Today I have my monthly favourites for March, a couple of which are old favourites that I've rediscovered!

BEAUTY

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream || I've had this lip cream for what feels like forever, I must have bought this nearly a year ago and I think it's practically ran out now! I go through phases of using this, and have fell back in love! It's in the shade London which is a gorgeous nude perfect for an everyday makeup look. It has a very creamy consistency and is non-drying so feels lovely on the lips. I wish I owned all the shades!!

Ciaté Nail Varnish || I actually received this nail varnish in a Glossybox, just before I started my reviews on here. It's in the shade Fade to Greige which I absolutely love! It's perfect for me as I can only wear neutral colours to work, and I've noticed looks very different on other skin tones! I believe Ciaté varnishes are quite pricey, but they're definitely worth the money in my opinion!

Freedom Eyebrow Pomade || I was so nervous to buy this product, not really knowing how to use it but I'm so glad I did! It's been my go-to brow product for just over a month now, and I don't think I'd ever go back to my trusty Collection Brow Kit! I have the shade Chocolate which I must admit is a little bit warm for me, but I make it work!

Coconut Lane Phone Case || I know this isn't exactly a beauty product but it certainly is a beauty to look at! I picked this phone case up a few weeks ago, and love it! I love the blush pink colour with the contrast of marble and although it doesn't feel very sturdy, it's served me well so far! Use my code JEEZLOUISE20 to get 20% off at coconut-lane.com

TV & FILM

How I Met Your Mother || I've always loved this show, and will always watch it if it's on TV. But when I noticed it was on Netflix, I just had to start from Season 1 Episode 1! I've probably watched it everyday this month, even if it's only one episode. It's slowly become one of my favourite shows ever, and always great if you need a good laugh!

Beauty and the Beast || I can't even explain how excited I was when it was announced that there would be a live-action Beauty and the Beast, it's one of my favourite animated Disney movies! I went to see it for my birthday last week, and enjoyed it so much! It's just so magical!! The casting was perfect, and Josh Gad played Le Fou so well. I couldn't help but sing along to all the songs, and left the cinema feeling so good! If you haven't seen it already, go now!!

MUSIC

Two Door Cinema Club - Bad Decisions
Kygo & Selena Gomez - It Ain't Me
Pitbull & Flo Rida - Greenlight
TNGHT - Higher Ground
Netsky - Rio
Jonas Blue & Raye - By Your Side

So that's everything I've loved in March, what's something you loved?

Makeup Collection: Primers and Concealers

Hey everyone, I recently did a poll over on my Twitter to see whether anyone would like to see my makeup collection and the result was YES. So I've split everything up into groups and I'm going to be showing you all my favourite makeup items. First up in my mini series is primers and concealers.

L'Oreal Infallible Mattifying Primer
I use this primer on an almost daily basis, it's the first primer I found that works well with my skin and is a good price at around £10. It dulls out my oily patches without making my dryness go crazy which I love. It's also a drugstore dupe of the Smashbox one!

Smash box Photo Finish Primer
I originally bought this primer to test against the L'Oreal one after I heard they were basically the same and I must admit, they are very similar. They're both mattifying which is great for my combination skin. It's quite a bit more expensive at around £26 for 30ml but definitely worth it as it lasts a lot longer than the L'Oreal primer!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
This was probably the first concealer I bought, along with the foundation which I'm not a fan of, back when I first started wearing makeup. I love how much it brightens my under-eye area and lasts all day long, making me look fresh and ready to tackle anything life throws at me!

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
As you may have read in my Blogging Made Me Buy It post, I'm not the biggest fan of this concealer but I can't bare to get rid of it. I really like the creamy formula, I'm just not a huge fan of the shade range usually resulting in me mixing two together to get the right colour. I can't really complain too much though as it's only about £3 which is a bargain for such a good product!

Maybelline Anti-Age Eraser Concealer
This is quite a recent purchase of mine, and I only bought it cause literally everyone was raving about it. I can definitely see why there's a hype for this concealer but I'm not sure if I like the applicator. I've seen a few people take off the brush/pad thing, and just squirting it straight onto a brush which I might have to try.

NYX Full Coverage Green Concealer
Without makeup, I constantly look like I'm blushing due to the huge red patches on my cheeks. When all this colour correcting stuff came out, I knew I had to try it. I apply this green concealer onto my cheeks before my foundation and usual concealer and it works wonders. I was a bit skeptical at first but it makes such a difference and I wouldn't be without it now!

So that's everything in my collection of primers and concealers, I'd love to know your favourites! Stay tuned for my favourite foundations!
