The £3 MAC Lipstick Dupe You Need

After recently having a little clear out of my makeup, I stumbled across a lipstick I bought a few months ago and seemingly forgot about (oops)

Makeup Revolution brought out a range of rose gold lippies a while ago in *I think* 5 shades, I picked up the shade Chauffeur just for the packaging, not really expecting anything of it since it was only £3. On closer inspection and a million swatches later, I realised how similar the shade was to a couple of MAC lipsticks I own.

The packaging itself does look very alike, besides the rose gold which I absolutely love! The MUR lipstick does feel 'cheap' but that's expected for the price, but it looks beautiful on any vanity/dressing table. I definitely think MUR have opened a lot of doors for bloggers who might be on a budget and can't afford to be spending £15 a pop on a lipstick.

Chauffeur is such a wearable shade, perfect for everyday and suits most skin tones. The formula is described as being a high-gloss but I'd say it's more of a matte finish. I've compared it to MAC's Half n Half which is an amplified finish, and MAC's Velvet Teddy which has a matte finish. I'd definitely say MUR Chauffeur has a finish that sits in the middle of these two lipsticks, it isn't too glossy or matte so is perfect for everyday use!

To anyone blogging on a budget, I'd definitely recommend this lipstick. It has great staying power and while it swatches with quite a sheer finish, it is buildable so it's easy to achieve your desired look. It's an amazing lipstick that rivals the high-end brands and is only £3!!

Makeup Collection: Lipsticks

Hey everyone, welcome to the final post in my makeup collection series!
I hope you've enjoyed reading so far! Today I'll be talking about some of my favourite lipsticks. It was really quite hard for me to pick just a handful of lipsticks and I noticed a couple of them were basically the same colour, but who doesn't love a good nude right?!

MAC Amplified Lipstick - Half 'n Half
First up is a lipstick from MAC, one of the first I ever bought and it's still going strong! It's in the shade Half 'n Half which I've found is very similar to Velvet Teddy, just with a slightly glossier finish. The staying power is amazing, and I can wear this all day and not have to top up which is great! This lipstick is the perfect nude for an everyday makeup look and one of my go-to lippies!

Kylie Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick - Dolce K
Another perfect nude for everyday is Dolce K from Kylie Jenner's makeup range. I really like the formula of this liquid lipstick, it's not too matte that it dries your lips out but it has really good staying power! I bought this as a kit, so I received the lip liner to match and I have to say it's one of the best lip liners I've ever used! The only issue I've had is the customs fees when ordering from Kylie Cosmetics with it being from America, but it's definitely worth it!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream - London
This is my first and only product from NYX and I have used this to death! It's what I usually wear when I'm trying to achieve that 'no-makeup' look. The consistency of this lip cream baffled me at first, because it's like nothing I've ever tried before. It doesn't have as good a staying power as other matte lipsticks, but the pigmentation is great and it smells amazing too! I keep meaning to buy more shades but for now I'll be sticking to my trusty London shade!

Rimmel Apocalips - Celestial
As far as I know, these gloss/lacquer have actually been discontinued now (correct me if I'm wrong) but this light pink shade is one of my favourites, I usually wear this over a brown-nude lip liner and the mix of the two colours gives a lovely natural shade. They are, however, a little bit sticky so I sometimes dust a bit of translucent powder over the top to try and mattify it a little.

MAC Glaze Lipstick - Hot Tahiti
Just like the NYX lip cream, this is definitely one of my holy grail lip products. It's a glaze finish, so has a sheer glossy look to it but is a gorgeous dark pink. I wore this lipstick to death in Autumn/Winter and will probably do the same this year! It doesn't last as long on the lips as the matte lipsticks do but is still an absolutely gorgeous shade!

ModelCo Party Proof Lipstick - Smitten
Just like the name suggests, this lipstick is party proof! I have worn this on so many nights out and it's lasted all night which is impressive to say the least! It doesn't have a fully matte finish, so does transfer when kissing but doesn't lose any pigment which is fab! A gorgeous deep red that is actually darker when worn on the lips, it's also perfect in the Winter months to give a bit of edge to your look!

Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream - Rioja Red
Last but not least, a new favourite of mine. I discovered this lippie after seeing Rachel Leary talking about it in one of her YouTube videos, and it looked absolutely stunning! It's a beautiful true red, and the pigmentation is incredible. I have noticed that it doesn't last very long while eating, but drinking doesn't affect it so it's great for a night out. This has fast become a staple in my makeup bag!

So that concludes my makeup collection, I hope you've enjoyed reading! What's your favourite lipstick? I'd love to know!

Blogging Made Me Buy It

Something I've seen quite a lot recently is 'YouTube made me buy it' videos, so I thought I'd change it up a bit and do a 'Blogging made me buy it'. Now obviously no one made me buy any of these products, but the hype of them did. I've also included a couple of things that YouTube made me buy, because I watch quite a lot of beauty YouTubers.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Every blogger and YouTuber has this concealer, and they all rave about it. I heard nothing but good things about it for months so obviously I had to have it. I have this concealer in 3 different shades, none of which match my skin correctly so I can't use it. When I did use it, I found that it was a little cakey when worn on it's own so be prepared to set it with a face powder! For £3.99 I don't think it's a bad product, but I haven't got on with it as well as I thought I would which is disappointing.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation
I can't tell you how many YouTube videos I watched of beauty gurus telling me that this was the only foundation I needed in my life. I'm not sure if they were just paid to say it but either way, I believed them. Priced at £7.99, I thought this foundation was a decent price. It matched my skin well, but did leave me looking a bit oily at the end of the day. If you suffer with oily skin, I'd recommend the Matte & Poreless version of this foundation!

Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer
I have a love/hate relationship with this concealer. Sometimes it applies really nicely, then other times it looks a mess. I'm not sure if it's the way I'm applying it or if it's just a temperamental product. I definitely prefer this concealer to the Collection one, purely because there's more shade range. It's a bit more expensive than the Collection one at £7.99 but I think it's worth the extra money!

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
Ah, my good old faithful Stay Matte! After realising how oily my skin actually gets during the day, I scoured the Internet high and low for reviews on face powders. The Rimmel Stay Matte has been a staple in my makeup routine ever since. It does exactly what it says on the tin, and is only £3.99! I don't think I have anything bad to say about this product, maybe that the packaging needs to change since I've probably smashed about 10 'cause the lid doesn't stay on!

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
This is a recent purchase of mine, after seeing literally everyone talk about it. I bought the waterproof one by accident and I'm not sure if that effects the actual mascara itself but I'm not sure if I like this! Yet again I had high expectations since I'd seen so many people rave about it, so I think that's maybe ruined it for me. I can't lie, it's a good mascara and gives me the length and curl I need. I just feel like it was over-hyped and there are other mascaras that are miles better!

Soap & Glory Supercat Liner
"How-To Winged Eyeliner" was a frequent YouTube search for me, since I epically fail every time. So many girls used this eyeliner and made it look so easy to get the perfect wing with their first attempt. It's super black and has quite a thick nib which is perfect for a big wing! It absolutely doesn't budge either which I really like! I lack the patience to learn how to achieve a winged liner everyday, which might be why I don't love this product but practise makes perfect and I know I'll get there eventually!

MAC Velvet Teddy Lipstick
I remember when I first tried to buy this lipstick and realised it was sold out, and had been for a number of weeks. I'm not quite sure where I first saw this lipstick, or what started the hype but I'm so glad I actually own it! It's the perfect nude and lasts all day. The only thing I've found is that it's a matte finish and is quite drying on the lips. I can obviously see past it's flaws after all the time I spent waiting for it to be back in stock though!

Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit
I'm really undecided on whether I like this product. The Lip Kits obviously only got the hype they did because they're from Kylie Jenner's brand, but I feel like for the price you don't get anything amazing. These are also a pain to get hold of! I love the formula of the lip pencil, and sometimes wear it alone. The liquid lipstick is nice but gets a bit drying after a while and needs retouching after a few hours. You definitely pay for the Kylie name with these, and I'm sure there are cheaper products that are practically the same!

ABH Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette
I cannot express my love for this palette, I wish it was acceptable for me to sit and stare at it. It's just so pretty! This was my first product from ABH and I'm so happy I bought it because I'm a sucker for warm shades. I probably wouldn't have bought this if it wasn't for literally everyone posting about it, there was just no escape! The price made me wince a little as it was a whopping £41 on Beauty Bay and although I don't think it's worth the price, it's a gorgeous palette!

There were a few other things I bought because of YouTube and blogging, but I've thrown them out 'cause I just really didn't like them! I hope you enjoyed reading, let me know what blogging or YouTube made you buy!

Blogmas Day 5 | My Christmas Wishlist

Hello everyone, welcome to day 5 of Blogmas!
I feel like I should be congratulating myself on how well I'm doing but it is early days and it could all go wrong haha!

Every year I get asked by Ross and my family what I'd like for Christmas, and every year I never know what I want. Throughout the year, I'm forever telling Ross about things I'd like, but when he offers to buy them I no longer NEED to have them. So since I never know what I want anyone to buy me for Christmas, I wrote a little wishlist and that's what I'm sharing with you today! I doubt Ross or my family will actually read this but if you do, pay close attention ;)

the Balm Manizer Sisters Trio

I feel like I've seen this all over Instagram and on peoples' blogs and every time I see it, it makes me want it even more. All three shades look to-die-for and I'm not sure if I'd use all of them but Mary-Lou would probably be one of my faves! Apparently the single highlighters crumble really easily if dropped and I'm quite clumsy so getting the trio might be better for me. Plus it's 3 in 1 so more for your money!

Zoeva Rose Gold Brush Set

This brush set is just so gorgeous, I could stare at it all day! I snagged a photo from Pinterest a few weeks ago and I keep dropping hints to Ross, trying to show him the photo but he's not having any of it haha. Every blogger and youtuber seems to have these brushes, or some variation, and I probably only want them so I can brag to my friends about having them but I've heard nothing but good things about Zoeva and I think these brushes would look great in my collection!

Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palettes

Every blogger and youtuber probably has all of the Urban Decay palettes in their collection, and I feel like I'm missing out on all the fun. I have a palette from Makeup Revolution that is supposed to rival the Naked 3 but I don't own any so can't compare them. A girl's makeup collection isn't complete without these palettes!

Mac Diva lipstick

I've wanted this lipstick for as long as I can remember but for some reason I've never actually got round to buying it. I think the colour is absolutely gorgeous and is perfect for autumn/winter! I only own a couple of Mac lipsticks, both of them nudes, and I'm a bit bored of nudes now so I think having Diva in my collection would definitely spice things up a bit!

Apple iMac
After Ross treated me to a lovely desk for our anniversary in October, I feel like it isn't complete without a proper desktop computer. I mean, I'm fine sitting at my desk on my laptop but it just doesn't feel right haha! I think they look so smart and sophisticated, I'd probably feel like a pro, even though I'm far from it haha!

So that concludes my Christmas list, I hope this has given you some inspiration. What's on your Christmas list?
